The Highlights - Upskilling Program winners, Covid-19 measures, and Virtual Team Activities

Here is a monthly dose of news, updates, fun facts, and everything you need to know about Dev Partners.

Dev Partners announces winners of its upskilling program

Part of the training, development, and incentive programs of Dev Partners launched earlier this year is the “Upskilling Program,” which meant to give monetary benefits to employees who will achieve top scores on training activities.

As the first half of the year came to an end, most developers were able to complete their first set of training modules and have participated in each module’s assessment. Through this, Dev Partners was able to assess the top 5 employees who achieved the highest overalls scores.

Frontend developers have focused on the following modules: the SOLID Principles Object Oriented Design Architecture, and the Modern React with Redux which is divided into three parts.

Backend developers, on the other hand, have focused on the following: the SOLID Principles Object Oriented Design Architecture, Rest APIs in Asp .NET Core, Test Driven Development (TDD), and Refactoring to Design Patterns, all in C# language.

Below are the 1st Quarter Winners:

Arnel Ambrosio - 98.17% (Backend)

Mark Valenzuela - 96.83% (Backend)

Mark Bengil - 95.33% (Backend)

Arnaldo Jan Ubas - 94.40% (Frontend)

Elmer Datolayta - 94.88% (Frontend)

The developers mentioned have won $500 each. For July, we are ready to meet our new set of training goals.

Dev Partners COVID-19 measures update

As we continue to battle and get past this pandemic, we at Dev Partners remain committed to protecting the welfare of our employees. While most developers are working remotely, as they have always been, training and other activities are provided to keep them motivated and encouraged. We also take all safety precautions and measures to protect our employee’s physical and mental well-being.

Dev Partners focused on ensuring our clients that work is being done and requirements are being passed in a timely manner. All targets are met at present, and we also continue to set goals to reach for the whole year.

We are ready to comply with the new normal and, at the same time, one with the world in fighting the pandemic in ways we can.

Virtual Team Activities You Can Do Today!

Since most people are working remotely, we have researched some fun things you can do at the comforts of your own home. Read below some virtual team activities you can try:

  1. Zoom games. This widely used meeting app is loaded with games you can do with your team while on a meeting. Have you tried Card Against Humanity? How about the virtual Bingo? It’s a good way to relax a bit while working.

  1. Guess the item. Get whatever item you have at home and have your team member guess it. This is a simple ice breaker game before a heavy and loaded meeting. Don’t forget to give prizes!

  1. Goal sharing. This is not really a game but it's a good way to inspire the team before work begins. The supervisor can ask members about their short term goal (could be personal or work related) and ways on how they can achieve it. The whole team can share advice as well.

Quote to Inspire

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.”

– Steve Jobs
